Sidewalls are made of vinyl and can be added to just about any tent to close it off from the elements. They come in a variety of sizes and are available for most tent styles. There are many reasons you may want nor not want sidewalls on your tent.
Advantages
- Helps block driving rain*.
- Retains heat and cold.
- Hides areas that do not look nice, such as construction, garbage, etc.
- Used as a backdrop for musicians and buffet areas.
- Helps control guests - can direct them around tents into specific entrances and exits.
Disadvantages
- Hides nice areas, such as gardens.
- Causes tent to be hotter in warm temperature.
- Walls may be pushed inwards due to wind. Tethering of walls may be available depending upon the tent style.
- The tent may feel smaller due to walls.
* Rain usually does not enter a tent unless winds are blowing the wind into the tent.
