Production company expands with new name

Everything Entertainment owner Scott Weisberg began his entrepreneurial journey as a magician

Scott’s Magic & Entertainment Co., an event-production enterprise based in Mariners Harbor, has reinvented itself as a new and improved business: Everything Entertainment.

“We have expanded our inventory to handle larger events,” said Scott Weisberg, the entrepreneur behind the company, which rents out carnival equipment, rides and inflatable attractions, and such special-festivities basics as tents, heating, lighting, tables, chairs and linens.

“We have upgraded our generator power, including new EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) compliant generators,” he said, “and we have added new amusement rides that are appropriate for a wide range of ages." Weisberg also noted the implementation of a new safety-training program for his employees.

Scott’s Magic began as a home-based business when Weisberg, 35, was a pre-teen. As its name implies, the venture focused on Weisberg’s skill as a magician. “I started (performing magic tricks) when I was 4 or 5, a long, long time ago,” he said.

In 1997, Scott’s Magic relocated from Weisberg’s home to a warehouse, and, by 1989, the business had expanded to include carnival attractions, amusement rides and a full-service entertainment agency. “We’ve done nationwide events for the Disney Channel and Disney radio,” Weisberg said.

The birth of Everything Entertainment will be celebrated tomorrow evening during a party attended by professional event planners. “In hopes of bringing more business to Staten Island, over 450 private and corporate event planners from the tri-state area have been invited to the launch party,” Weisberg said. “Magicians, clowns, and celebrity impersonators are among the performers attending.” A variety of outdoor amusements and staples available from Everything Entertainment will be showcased at the event.

In addition to providing expanded services, Weisberg said, the growth of his business comes with an attractive byproduct: Job opportunities. “Everything Entertainment will create many employment positions for Staten Islanders, offering a great opportunity for individuals looking for a full-time career or a part-time weekend job,” he said.

Party planners or consumers with upcoming special events are welcome to attend tomorrow’s event at Everything Entertainment’s headquarters, 236 Arlington Ave., Mariners Harbor, from 7 to 10 p.m. However, Weisberg said, reservations must be made with Everything Entertainment by this evening.
